Sustainability and Environment

A-TEC Industries is a holding company that heads four operating divisions with four different business models. Each of the division is acting to a large extent independent from the holding. For A-TEC group sustainable development means combining economical corporate goals with future-compatible growth and human progress as far as possible.

In the area of sustainability and environment different approaches and requirements do exist. A first step was made by the sustainability report of Montanwerke Brixlegg, which was drawn up in cooperation with the Tyrolean government and the University of Innsbruck.

Division Minerals & Metals

Montanwerke Brixlegg AG’s corporate principles are, in interaction with ecological opportunities, the appreciation of social responsibility, the careful use of natural resources and the continued reduction of environmental pollution.

Plant Construction Division

The AE&E Group is a global leader in the growth areas of energy and environmental technology. AE&E furthers the cause of sustainability by supplying innovative products and solutions that result in efficient energy use, resource conservation and emission reduction.

    • The Environmental Technology Business Unit portfolio contains all standard flue gas cleaning processes for power plants, waste incineration plants and biomass-fired power plant.
    • The Business Unit Energy of the plant construction division develops among others holistic energy from waste systems for the ecological and economic handling of domestic and commercial waste. Its emphasis is on maximum energy recovery in a tandem with minimum environmental impact.
    • To a considerable extent, these successes are based on ongoing research and development. This creates a platform for constant supply of solutions for our customers, offering optimum plant efficiency and minimum emission impact. In autumn, the start signal was given for the REAplus research project (power plant Niederaußem), which is being completed in co-operation with RWE. In years to come it will establish new benchmarks for power plant emission reductions. In addition, an initial pilot project relating to the use of post-combustion for CO2 reductions was launched.
