The EMCO and DST Group is known for its habit of coming up with new, unusual and innovative solutions. The EMCO Group and Dörries Scharmann Technologie — a line-up of highly specialised machine tool makers — forms the A-TEC Industries’ Machine Tool Division. This network of European manufacturers includes such successful companies as EMCO, Dörris Scharmann Technologie, Magdeburg Werkzeugmaschinen, INTOS, Famup and Mecof. The teams in this subgroup collaborate on the development of intelligent and innovative machining solutions.
Thanks to an ambitious product development strategy and a hard-working R&D department the division has rapidly transformed itself into a full-line supplier, and markets high performance machining centres for almost every conceivable application. The range of products extends from conventional lathes and milling machines to various types of CNC machining centres and fully automated CNC manufacturing cells. Particularly promising is EMCO’s ability to offer one-stop shopping for combined lathe and milling machines, which enables it to cater to vast potential demand on the European and world markets.
Thanks to its "design-to-cost" approach, the EMCO Group's role extends beyond that of a mere machine tool supplier, and makes it an expert partner for multinational companies. The modular training programme marketed by EMCO Industrial Training Systems enjoys worldwide success, and EMCO is the only company in the world to offer training machines with interchangeable control systems. EMCO training machines are in use in training workshops around the globe.
The Machine Tool Division has over 1,498 highly skilled employees at its sites in Austria, the Czech Republic, Germany, France and Italy and its sales offices in Germany, the USA and Asia, and returned preliminary revenues of EUR 262 million in 2009.
