The Plant Construction Division — which comprises the Vienna headquartered AE&E Group GmbH — is the largest in A-TEC Industries, contributing about 60% of consolidated revenue. The Division brings together such internationally successful companies as AE&E Austria, Von Roll Inova Holding and Babcock Power España. The Division owes its success to experience and technical expertise dating back some 150 years, and strong global and local industrial brands. Most of these companies can look back on illustrious traditions that have now found a successful continuation in the AE&E Group. AE&E’s product portfolio includes boiler plants, flue gas purification systems, waste incinerators, turnkey power plants, coal gasification units, valves, and services ranging from engineering design to plant upgrading and operation.

The AE&E Group posted preliminary revenues of EUR 1,812 million in 2009, and currently employs some 5,200 people in Vienna and Graz (Austria), Zurich (Switzerland), Cologne, Nuremberg and Ratingen (Germany), Brno (Czech Republic), Paris (France), Bilbao and Madrid (Spain), Slavonski Brod (Croatia), Moscow (Russia), Norcross (USA), Shanghai and Nanjing (China), Chennai (India), Sao Paulo (Brazil) and Sydney (Australia).
